The weather was horrible and I loved it. I saw photos everywhere I looked. Ponderosa Pine Frocked in Snow was shot at about 8:15 in the morning in mid-March. I shot the photo while Tish went into the Monument, CO Starbucks. It was just a spur of the moment shot. I didn't think about it much, but the snow frocked ponderosa pines appealed to my inner child. It was how Christmas trees were supposed to look like.
It was last winter when I saw how beautiful gray was in photography. I sat next to an amateur photographer on a flight from Colorado to Washington, D.C. and he showed me some photos he took in the mountains that were just different shades of gray. He had the photos on his MacBook with Aperture software.
I personally like winter. It is my favorite season and I think it is the best time to take the best photos because a lot of people don't want to go out and take the photos in the snow and cold. Another blessing to winter is that the angle of the sun gives you a longer Golden Hour (near sunrise and sunset) when the sun is at its softest and shadows are striking.

Loved the photo. It would make a great Christmas Card.

Glad you liked the photo. I think you should use the photo for your Christmas card. Also, if you search "Oregon" at the top, you'll see all the Oregon pictures I took.
And here I thought you were going to make a comment on the diffuser picture I had of Tish.
